Official Visit of a Delegation from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Slovenia
Upon the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Ernest Petrič, a delegation from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania, led by the Court's President Mr Bashkim Dedja, arrived on an official visit on Sunday, 17 June 2012. The delegation includes Judges Dr Vittore Tusha and Mr Fatmir Hoxha. During the visit the delegation is accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Slovenia, Dr Sandër Kovaçi.

The judges of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania and the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Slovenia initiated bilateral cooperation last year. This visit thus entails the establishment of the conditions for further promotion and deepening of bilateral contacts in the future. Formal discussions between the members of both Constitutional Courts held on Monday, 18 June 2012, confirmed our expectations and we consider them very successful. The Constitutional Court judges exchanged experience regarding constitutional review and presented some of the important decisions adopted in the past year. In the continuation of the talks, special attention was devoted to problems related to constitutional complaints and to the relationship between the constitutional court and the European Court of Human Rights.
After the discussions on Monday, 18 June 2012, the delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania was received by the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Gregor Virant, and the Minister of Justice and Public Administration, Dr Senko Pličanič. On Tuesday, 19 June 2012, the delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania will be received by the President of the Higher Court in Koper, Mrs Joža Velkaverh.
The delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania will end its official visit to the Republic of Slovenia on Wednesday, 20 June 2012.
