A delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Slovenia, led by President Prof. Dr Ernest Petrič, started an official visit to the German Federal Constitutional Court upon the invitation of its President, Prof. Dr Andreas Voßkuhle, on Tuesday, 20 March 2012. The Slovene delegation also includes Judges Mag. Marta Klampfer, Mr Jan Zobec, and Dr Dunja Jadek Pensa, and Secretary General Prof. Dr Erik Kerševan.
The judges of both Constitutional Courts already met in Slovenia in 2010, but this is the first time that, as a culmination of the cooperation that has developed between both Courts over the past years, a delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Slovenia is paying an official visit to the Federal Constitutional Court. In the course of the two-day formal discussions the judges will address problems regarding constitutional complaints, direct effect of statutory provisions, and the access to the constitutional court, as well as the relationship between the Court of European Union and the European Court of Human Rights on the one hand and national constitutional courts on the other. They will also present the most important decisions of each Court adopted in 2011 and exchange their rich experiences based on the case-law of the respective Constitutional Courts.
The official visit will end on Thursday, 22 March 2012.
